Profits Promise

Back when I interviewed Wendy from eMoms at Home, she said one thing which really struck me. She said that she donated a percentage of her profits to Kiva.org. I thought this was a commendable gesture and vowed that one day if I ever started making money off this blog myself I would also do something worthy.

Well that time is now.

I don’t make much; what I contribute can’t really compete to what other businesses, and enterprises, and wealthier individuals could. Nonetheless, I fully believe that contributing something, doing something, is better than nothing. Too long have people been scared or influenced by naysayers that we can’t make a difference. That, pardon the language, is balls.

My trouble is that there are literally hundreds of charities I would love to help. Hopefully I will, too - in time.

This page will be a kind of tally-board which I will update irregularly; for my own motivation, and perhaps yours.

We can make a difference if we try.

“Berry Street Victoria (BSV) has been protecting and caring for children and strengthening families since 1877. We never give up and are here for the ‘long haul’. We are an independent, not for profit community organisation that has played a unique role in the Victorian community.

Today’s organisation is built on the firm foundations of the past, meets the challenges of the present and will continue to change to meet future needs.” [Taken from their website]
