After my fall last year I made a resolution to buy a pair of sensible – but cute – sandals and ended up buying these from ECCO:

… and have been more than happy ever since. They are supremely comfortable.

I think it’s getting around that I have a bit of a love affair with shoes. So you can imagine my delight when ECCO asked if I’d like to have a look at their new winter range. ECCO are a family-owned company from Denmark and are totally immersed in the shoe making process. From the tanneries to the factories, their production values are of the hightest order and are reflected in the company philosophy of “quality first”. Their strength of their passion can be found in every pair of shoes.

I’ve got the catalogue next to me and it’s full of tall, attractive, roguish-looking men. It took my attention away from the shoes – but only for a moment.

Because I had the fun job of picking a pair for myself!

After long study, I had to fall back upon some truths:

1) My existing pair of black boots are falling apart.
2) I live in Melbourne. Melbourne is cold in winter. I need long boots for the warmth factor alone, not to mention…
3) … I LOVE BOOTS. I practically live in them. But they must be comfortable.

So I got these:

ECCO shoes

Technically speaking they are ECCO Cloud II boots (RRP$359.95).

In my lingo, I say they are delightful.

There is a slight flare at the top which means they will go nicely either over or under jeans/pants. How much it kicks out depends on your leg type (I have thinnish calves – don’t hate me – so there is a little gap).

Here are some others to whet your appetite:

From top to bottom: ECCO Casual Bouillon (RRP$199.95), ECCO Stripe (RRP$239.95), ECCO Summer Zone (RRP$219.95), ECCO Jaffna (RRP$359.95)

What’s best of all is I have something to give back to you. Thanks to the generosity of ECCO have one (1) voucher worth $250 to give away to a reader. That could be you!

Here are the terms:

1) Leave a comment (one per person) in the comments section saying what kind of shoe you’d buy if won: Boot? Work shoe? Weekend casual? Sandal? Something for the kids? Men, feel free to jump in, don’t be shy.

Better yet, go over to their website and have a look and report back!

2) This is open to Australian residents only. Please check the store locator to find your closest store.

3) This competition closes at 5pm on Friday 6th May. The winner will be determined by a random number generator. I will then contact that person and post the results up here.

4) I reserve the right to redraw another winner if contact cannot be made with the original winner after a week.

ECCO

I’d like to thank ECCO.
