2010 bloggies

As Veronica’s post reminded me this morning, the nominations are now open for the 2010 bloggies. Now, remember this time last year when I said, “I’m not going to beg for a nomination this year (although that would be really dandy). I will play it cool and be above all competition. I will be the blogging equivalent to Woody Allen.”

Yes.

Well.

While I don’t think I’m quite at begging point yet, perhaps I am a tad closer to, say, requesting nicely – complete with the fluttering of eyelashes?

There is a great deal of competition for the Best Australian or New Zealand Blog category, I agree; I can say this with even more certainty after reading the Miscellaneous Voices submissions. I am also proud to say I am friends with many of last year’s finalists.

But as much as it’s easy to let the ego let us get carried away, I must also admit there’s a part of me that gets troubled about the whole award ‘thing’.

How about you? Are you all for them or do you keep a skeptical distance?
