I’m talking about their generation

Pac-Man!

Nothing quite screams “GENERATIONAL GAP!” like when you’re in the Manga/graphic novel section of Borders and there is an old-school arcade video game.

So the kids sit down…

Pac-Man touch-screen style? (Not quite)

And try to get it to work with their fingers, like one of those touch screen “WHERE ARE YOU” maps the shopping centres all seem to have now.

I was part-amused, however the 80s child left inside me wept a little.

Jesus probably did too ;)

There was one of those that we used to play all the time but I can’t remember where it was. Where was it? It had red buttons.

Oh, that is precious. And very intuitive of the children, too.

I now have an insatiable craving for Frogger…..

Hahaha, too funny :D

Was it the squash centre you’re thinking of Rochelle? That’s the only place I have seen one…

Rochelle – I want to say space invaders, but it wasn’t that. but it WAS space-rockety.

Michelle – Rochelle is talking about the one we used to play at the Kempsey Golf Club while we waited to dad as he drank at the bar. But, now you mention it, I remember the one at the Squash Club too!

I think also the West Kempsey pub had one too… (can’t say being a cricket-kid didn’t involve some education :) )

Was it Galaga?

Anna (9 comments.) November 12, 2009 at 9:19 pm

Paul says: Was it Elevator?

Karen (miscmum) (104 comments.) November 12, 2009 at 9:44 pm

I don’t think it was Elevator, the screen you see there is the demos for what other games you can play and Elevator appears to be one of those (Paul has eager eyes!)
And Anna I did play Galaga when I was little, so it might be one of the times I said in comment #5 Thanks!

I think to solve this mystery I need to go back to Borders!
