As part of my birthday present, I have requested my husband to buy me the above book. I am very possibly the last woman left who hasn’t read it yet and I admit I’ve been holding out for some time. I suppose it’s the snob in me who is reluctant to jump on a fad and just have fun on the ride. I was exactly the same with the Harry Potter books – I would watch every second person on the train as I used to commute into the city of a morning and wonder what the hell it was all about; and then I bought them and found out why.
I do believe – though – that this will be the perfect beach read. I realise vampires and the beach / sunlight mightn’t seem like the most likely of combinations, but I speak more in terms of lovely, greedy escapism; where I can relax and enjoy.

Meh. I haven’t read ‘em yet either, and I love me some vampire stories. I suppose I’ll get to ‘em at some point. For some reason, angsty teenage vampires just don’t hold the same appeal for me.
And you should really just revel in the irony of reading a vampire novel at the beach.

OK, so I am not feeling so alone now, there are still a few of us who haven’t joined the Twilight party – yet!

Nope, I haven’t read them either!
(And I didn’t feel that bad about the Harry Potter fad, because I had read the first book before they went and got all popular.)

I haven’t read Twilight either but I’ve heard a lot about it. Vampire books and/or movies really aren’t “my thing”, so I don’t know if I’ll ever read Twilight or not.
Harry Potter, on the other hand, is quite a different matter. I’ve read every Harry Potter book in the series and couldn’t get enough. My kids laughed when they realized I was hooked on Harry Potter books.
Now I’m on a mission to read all the “Edge Chronicles” books I can get my hands on, since it appears as though they are somewhat similar to Harry Potter fantasy writings.
I look forward to your Twilight book review if you decide to do one.

I finally read Twilight. Yesterday. Our librarians have all been raving about it, so I said I might try it, but their two copies are on the reserve list until something like 2011, so they actually ordered another copy and saved it for me. Gotta love small towns.
And yeah, I’m hooked.
