Some exciting news on the writing front

May 23rd, 2008 at 5:56 am » Comments (16)

Wednesday was not a good day. At least, it wasn’t up until 12.28pm.
Until then, I’d had whinging children constantly in my ear and I wasn’t feeling the best emotionally:
Will the BOOK be a FAILURE? Or a ROUSING SUCCESS?
Does it matter?
Of course it matters!
Well, it depends on how you define ’success’
Shut up, brain.

So for […]

A world of fibrous discomfort

Edit: I wrote this several weeks ago. I haven’t posted it until now because…well, I’m not sure why. Part of me was like, “Girl, so TMI.”
Then the other part of me said, “Girl, you live such a transparent life these days you might as well be a jellyfish.”
So here I am in gloopy, slimy, tentacled glory!
P.S I […]

WW - How things stay the same

I am posting this for two reasons:
1) This was taken one year ago today. My boy hasn’t changed all that much, except for the hair.
2) This is the precise face my husband gave me two night ago when I served him up wholegrain pasta instead of his usual white flour (is the devil) kind. It must […]

The fallout? I was met with skepticism and incredulence (in the nicest possible way. LOL).
Well it appears I am not the only […]

Yesterday afternoon I sat down with my designer friend who is typesetting Surprise! and we decided on the book cover. Over a few hours, she (with me sitting beside looking thoughtfully at her impressive Macintosh) set it up, saved it, burned me a copy, slipped it in a green CD sleeve and we were done. I took […]

When is too much enough?

Okay, so I’m getting the impression that whenever I talk about my writing these days - and by extension of that, the book - you all out there exhale deeply and sigh, “Here she goes again.” You then figuratively check your watches and skim to the end of the post in case I end with a something interesting, and then […]

Setting out to conquer the world

May 16th, 2008 at 5:53 am » Comments (5)

As we were driving home last weekend from the writer’s festival my husband asked me, “So what happens now? You’ve been on the radio and the “speakers circuit” in a matter of days. What’s next in your quest to take over the world?”
Now the question threw me somewhat, because its been clinically proven by millions […]
