This is why I had children + Bloggers Unite Day

Keira: “Ladders are only for adults and four-year olds to climb.”

Riley (looking up into the clear, night sky): “Look, sprinkles!”

******

Planning Queen recently informed me that today is Bloggers Unite For Human Rights. It “challenges bloggers everywhere to help elevate human rights by drawing attention to the challenges and successes of human rights issues.”

Well I think that this is the perfect opportunity to remind people again of the fabulous Oxfam work does to help poor communities become more self sufficient.

So here’s my idea:

Starting from the second this post gets posted and then for the next 24 hours exactly for every new Twitter follower I get I will donate $2 to the Oxfam fundraiser I have running on my right sidebar to give the pot a bit of a boost. Not interested in joining Twitter? (I don’t see why you wouldn’t be; it is an excellent time waster). Then how about I get really vulgar and request instead you go on over to this lovely popularity contest and throw a vote my way? There’s another $2 for nothing (well, almost nothing. A teensy bit of time?)

Okay, none of those ideas tickle?

Well come over the the fundraiser and smackdown some lovely cash yourself, perhaps?

Because bloggers, or not, it’s all about uniting today. Or some such.

Let’s see how we go!

I must be cursed. First Twitter went all AWOL on me then I tried to join Bloggers Choice and they still haven’t sent me my confirmation email.

Thankfully, Twitter finally started Twitting again so I’m now following you. :)

I am teetering on joining Twitter, but can’t take the plunge yet. Took the easy option and voted for your blog! :) Great idea to raise cash for a worthy organisation.
